Discussion Which historical figures do you like?

I like Tertullian's writings (primarily those before his adoption of Montanism, of course, though I'd argue that even some writings during that time of his life still have decent wisdom packed in them), albeit remembering his eventual, spiritual fate always saddens me. Intellectual and spiritual pride are both very tempting dangers, especially when hypocrites or hard-hearted dimwits are so-commonly in one's midst. His story is a good reminder of that.
