What I don't understand is how they complain so much about these websites, and yet they can't be bothered to move to an alternative.
I remember a handful of video streaming platforms alternatives to YouTube and the only ones that really did anything were Rumble and Odysee.
Vimeo and Dailymotion still exist, but nobody gives a shit about them anymore.
Vidlii is a dead, uncensored hellhole, and Storyfire only did well in the beginning as everybody stopped caring after awhile, it's also currently down as we speak.
I'm surprised Bluesky is doing as well as it is.

I'm still waiting for the boiling point, this shit can't go on forever and the political divison has to reach a climax at some point. I think the people who believe in a civil war are hyperbolic, irrational, and are inadvertently supporting the perspective of the neo-cons (I.E John Bolton).
But at the same time I think it'll just continue to get worse without ever reaching a finality because social media is what propagates and encourages these unhinged thinkers and echo chambers, and social media isn't going to go away, ever.
You can't create a solution, or a temporary solution for that matter, if you can't get rid of the problem.
Safe spaces and hugbox platform rhetoric is also retarded and act as an aid in reinforcing the existence of these digital echo chambers, like Bluesky and even 4cuck to an extent.
 
alot of platforms would get flooded with rapefugees and i imagine some outcry, pedophiles would be a little disorginaized for a bit. platforms with servers might just move to another platform

discord does not serve as an effective means of containing internet degenerates. they have every tool they need to rope in innocent kids who dont know any better. they have a fucking built in discovery feature that doesn't get moderated. any 6 year old can just go to the search bar and instantly start getting groomed. it does not exist in a vacuum, more and more kids are logging on to that site every day and discovering shit they shouldn't be discovering. if it got nuked and replaced by a different instant-messaging app that actually takes accountability this would be a net positive
 
the concept of "containment sites" is totally fucking retarded 90 percent of the time unless its some seedy underbelly of the internet. its not containing anything if it is constantly roping in new people who never would have discovered it otherwise. discord is THE option for instant-messaging online for most people and its run by a niggrillion pedos, saying that its a containment site does not change anything

everyone on discord would just move to something with similar features like telegram or a discord clone like revolt or guilded
either way, nothing happens. and a mass exodus to telegram would be horrific in the long run since TG has less moderation and more pedotroons on it

and turned out that Discord was just being an unstable piece of shit in general, most likely an outage since the app is known to do that on rare ocassions lol

I think most of them use discord as the primary place for communication and literally everything. Once it dies they'll probably flood reddit, forums, matrix, and maybe imageboards.
