The absolute state of Wine on FreeBSD is making me consider packing up and moving on from the OS. FreeBSD has came so far as to where gaming is possible, but Wine drags the entire thing down with obfuscation and irritation. First it's audio, then it's Wine-Mono refusing to install, then it's Wine-Mono not being detected, then it's Wine-Proton not booting, and it just goes on and on and on and on with really specific idiotic issues with no end in sight. I absolutely adore the simplicity and comprehension of BSD, but the same cannot be said for Wine and it's done nothing but cause me hassle. It's funny, because most of my issues with Wine have never occurred on Arch, why? I wish I knew, I really wish I knew. I know it's such a specific thing to ditch an OS over but it's really bothering me and the solution hasn't gotten clearer. I've even tried patched versions of Wine to no avail, I know this works flawlessly on another machine, but it doesn't on mine.
