For the last day or two I've been working on setting up a Terraria server for the Shroom, just like the old times and I've done just that however I want it to last more than a day and I was wondering how I can do this. My solution is that the server will be multiple servers, the first and current one is on classic, the next will be expert, the third will be master, and the last will be legendary mode. If you miss something you wanted to do you can just play the next playthrough and everything will be good for you, and you get several tries if you miss out. It'll start easy but get procedurally harder too so persistent gamers will enjoy being tested later on.

terraria multiplayer isn't really meant to be played like minecraft multiplayer. There's always some level of cooperation.
