I've opened us a minecraft server, shroom.mc.gg
Right now its running the latest release version but once I can wrangle somebody who likes to play with server stuff, it will be run on Alpha 0.1.0
Do not get attached to this world as once the Alpha version is running I'm deleting the temp world.
The server is also reduced a lot in size, and you will hit the world border at 25k blocks.

id say host for beta 1.7.3 instead
i like the alpha versions of minecraft but player retention would probably be shit once everyone gets settled, and who's to say that alpha 0.1.0 will have decent (if any) plugin support

if this is more or less about nusoibabies getting to build shit in oldtranny minecraft, you could also maybe consider classicube. it’s completely free and will run on literally any potato capable of rendering 3d graphics
