No one here knows how the future is going to end up. It is the domain of meteorologists and pseuds to try and predict the future 4 months from now. To sacrifice the present in the name of the future is nihilistic and helps nobody. To teach kids that only doom awaits them is magnitudes more evil than teaching them to do better than their parents.

That really isn't what I've been trying to communicate. Though I think things will certainly get worse in the coming years and decades, I know that, eventually, they will get better. They have to. I just can't understand why so many people are okay with living how we do today.

That's the whole point. This guy is thousands and thousands in credit card debt, living beyond his means, just so he doesn't have to feel any kind of discomfort in his life.

You can refer to the first post I made in the thread for how people tolerate a degradation in morals. We are all Hell-bound, and after you accept this, you can begin to better the world in a positive direction. Having children, raising them right, and guiding others on to the right path is a nice start.
