It certainly has that potential. I don't deny that. Still, modern science also holds a harsh and dark capability, and it is used for that purpose just as much as it is for our well-being, if not far more.

No, I hate every government involved in the Second World War. I don't usually put my hate on a hierarchical scale, but I am inclined to say that if Stalin, Hitler, and Churchill were all at the gallows for their crimes, perhaps the latter two could have the mercy of dropping first, for neither of them directly and utterly demolished the Church's influence on the population's souls to such a degree as Stalin and his Bolshevik Renovationist cronies.
