Fitness & Calorie Counting

I eat around 4000 calories a day and frequently lift. I won't be posting physique for privacy reasons or whatever but I'm an average looking guy.
Yesterday I spent most of the day with family so I couldn't really eat enough. (Only had about 2700 calories that day) so now I have to make up for it by eating extra today by eating 5300 cals. The gym was closed for Easter Sunday as well, which was quite a shame, so I had to do a home back day.
I've thought of gradually increasing my caloric intake until I can regularly eat 5000 calories a day, but 4000 seems to be a good and realistic mark for me at the moment.
4/20/2025 - Technically almost done but I gotta make up for yesterday so I still need to eat a bit more.

I’ve been on a cut recently and it’s been going well but i usually don’t use calorie tracking apps for things like these. i’ll usually just google the macros and add it all up to a total calorie amount. so with my maintence i’m on like a 250-300 deficit right now, there’s days where i’m starving and then there’s days where i’m full when i haven’t even finished eating yet. i’m definitely looking a lot leaner now so there’s nothing else to do than push forward

I'm a bit more of an analytical person, so knowing exactly how much I need to eat and reaching it (& sometimes getting past the goalpost) is satisfying. I've kept a tracking streak going for about 16 days straight which doesn't sound like much but regardless it's a win.
I ate two cookies, two muffins, and a cherry pie today
I had 4 cookies and a tall glass of milk for breakfast this morning. Cherry pie sounds good too althougheverbeit. Never tried it.

Bro has never eaten cherry pie

are you dirty bulking?
Half and half. I meal prep sometimes and I made myself a couple boxes of beef & rice to bring on campus for when I'm hungry over the school week. My bag is usually full of papers and it's got my computer in it so I just opt to bring one meal prep box with me for lunch. Not worth bringing two of the exact same meals to school

Even if I eat the greasiest, unhealthiest slop for a week straight, I am unable to gain a single ounce.

I’ve been gaining weight pretty quickly, and the 2 times that I managed to put on decent weight were when I tracked what I ate daily. If you need to put on extra weight or lose weight, track your calories. It’s simple and easy to get into a habit. I’ve been going for 20 days straight now. Works wonders what consistency can do.
