Elliott Smith once sperged out on a now defunct forum; attempting what I can only assume to be comedy, but missed the mark every single time.

You ever seen Good Will Hunting? Danny Elfman composed the music for that film but Elliott Smith's music was littered throughout the film as apart of the soundtrack.
He did pretty well for himself; performing on talk shows like Letterman or Conan. Even appeared on an unreleased pilot episode of a show starring a fellow collaborator of his, Jon Brion. Elliott was a pretty well known musician for a period, very influenced by The Beatles.
He unfortunately died in 2003 (although presumed murdered by many).
