I'd ask you why you want humanity to go extinct but honestly I don't think it matters that much, finding reason and sense in the world as an atheist is hard enough, I'd get why you'd end up at that point.
And I guess you're right, although in my opinion theocracy isn't extreme, it's just coherent with my beliefs. But normatively speaking it is, yes.

Another style of a more democratic theocracy would be to support the state religion while not recognizing any other religion.
Kinda like laicism except only one religion would be endorsed by the state and the rest put aside.
