Meta Is this the shroom's golden age?

What killed the schlog was the bad reputation the site got. It made newfags stop joining and the creativity die out. Thing is that the shroom already has this reputation either inherited from its predecessor or by virtue of being a splinter

Also the problem with the shlog and by extension the shroom, is that it was never meant to be a socialization site. The average sharteen doesn't join the schlog to chat with poopooshartcrews, he joins to post the same things he posts on the sharty and to discuss the soysphere.
When people get bored of shitposting, they keep going to the site just to talk to the people they met there, but that inevitably gonna bring drama. When a potential newfag joins the schlog and sees on the active threads 0 soyjaks or relevant discussion and instead sees a literal who named "jimbo" shitflinging with someone else over a drama he has 0 context of, it's obvious why he loses interest. That's what made the blog die
 
Also ffs, I bet if some random soyteen must have thought at some point: >Why would a join the blog if it has people from the likes of Joel, Astrofene or whatever other hated nametroons it should have been gatekept harder
 
Well. The schlog had a lot of funny moments and potential for genuinely gemminess. To see it end in complete disgrace where it is today is a bit depressing. And this forum is gonna be the same if no lessons are learned. More likely just become a dnb after everyone stops posting and it becomes forgotten with no one new joining.
