with gen alpha we’re seeing how millennials zoomers raise children. the whole “gentle parenting” forced meme has really taken off recently. they treat it as an excuse to not punish their kids whatsoever. just complete pushovers who shove ipads in their kids faces to shut them up. as a concept, gentle parenting is fine. i think you can teach kids a lot better if you aren’t screaming in their face. it also doesn’t teach them to be afraid of you. most of this seems to be the pendulum swinging the other way from strict boomer/gen x parents, and so the new generation of parents are overcorrecting and letting their kids get away with anything. “tough but fair” i think is the best way to raise a kid
